Odee Valid, great staff had the cheesesteak with Cooper sharp cheese and added long hot peppers, light mayo on a sesame roll. Odee fire will definitely come back.

Solid cheesesteak. Not a tourist trap. The bread was crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. I believe there could have been more cheese and the onions were burnt. Worth the try!

What an amazing Philly Cheesesteak! Bread roll was super fresh - tender and tasty steak augmented by onions (recommend adding!) and cheese. (Only reason for the 4 on service is that there were a lot of people ordering and had to wait for a new match of steak and cheese). And very large/generous portions! Highly recommend you try it out as a meal of Choice in the already amazing and unique market place!

One of the first stops we made on my trip to Philly was Uncle Gus’ Steaks. I had been planning to go to Angelo’s but when I found out this was a 5 minute walk from my hotel and owned by Angelo’s as well as other legends I just had to have it. This cheesesteak was the best I’ve ever had. The ribeye was tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. I got the cooper sharp with onions and the amount of cheese and onions was absolutely perfect. The bread was flaky and toasty, had a perfect amount of chew to it. It was loaded to the brim with steak. I absolutely suggest you go here and try one of the best cheesesteaks you will ever have. I don’t know how it could get better.

Located in Reading Terminal Market, Uncle Gus' cranks out top notch cheese steaks. Staff was friendly and I ordered a cheese steak with Cooper American, onions, and hot peppers. There is no seating so you can find a common seating area in the market. To me, the star of the show was the roll. It was excellent in every way. Fresh, crisp, not to bready, didn't fall apart. The cheese steak was great. I think there is a unique quality of the cheese totally melting into the steak that differentiates Philly from all the steak and cheese spots found elsewhere. The hot peppers were really nice as well!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Is all I can say. I have had a fair share of cheesesteaks and this one really sets the bar high. I had the cheesesteak with cooper sharp cheddar and onions. The meat was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bread was toasted just the way I like. Hands down the best cheesesteak I have had by far. I definitely recommend.

No disrespect (maybe a little) to my uncles cuz they could never make a cheesesteak like that. NEVER. Went on a busy Saturday like a stupid tourist and of course they were packed. All in all it look maybe 10 minutes despite 40 people ahead of me. The price here is high compared to other joints but you’re paying for location AND a product that’s just above most of the rest. Probably my favorite seeded roll steak on the city.

This place has fantastic Cheesesteaks that are uniquely served on seeded Italian bread instead of seedless which is a fun tribute to Philly’s Italian culture. The quality of ingredients is very good as is service and the location itself (Reading Terminal Market) is a local favorite. Menu wise it’s simple and they take cash or card and there are random tables throughout to actually eat at. The owners are also well respected in the area for their other restaurants and this joins the lineup of great places to go. This is a very easy recommendation.
